"UNB! Network" Florida Sports Report
The Tampa Bay Lightning and the Florida Panthers are
preparing for the 2016 NHL Stanley Cup Playoffs, which
starts Wednesday.

The Tampa Bay Lightning and the Florida Panthers have both made the 2016 playoffs, and both will look to advance through the rounds with the hopes of clinching the Stanley Cup.

The Lightning's round one series against the Detroit Red Wings begins on Wednesday, while the Panthers' round one matchup against the New York Islanders begins on Thursday.

"[Last year] showed us the grind of the playoffs & how hard it is," Lightning forward Ryan Callahan said on Tuesday. "You can relate back to that.

Lightning goaltender Ben Bishop believes that the Red Wings are going to want revenge for their playoff defeat against the Lightning last season.

"We eliminated them last year and they're going to have that in the back of their minds," Bishop said on Tuesday.

Florida Panthers forward Jaromir Jagr is excited to be back in the playoffs.

"Of course it's exciting," Jagr said on Wednesday. "We've been working all year for this."
